"Eternity Road" is a wonderful, well written adventure of determination, perseverance, and the infatigable quest for knowledge. McDevitt brings together a diverse group of characters that the reader gets to know better throughout this adventure even as they get to know themselves better/5.
Eternity Road is a great book. It's about a society recovering a several centuries after a plague wiped out society as we know it. The survivors see buildings and roads as monuments from the previous civilization, who they call "roadmakers"/5(). Jack McDevitt is the author of A Talent for War, The Engines of God, Ancient Shores, Eternity Road, Moonfall, Eternity road book numerous prize-winning short stories.
He has served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, taught English and literature, and worked for Brand: HarperCollins Publishers. "Eternity Road" was my first contact with Jack McDevitt's work, I was everafter hooked.
I have since read "The Engines of God", and am currently in the process of reading "Ancient Shores". But as for "Eternity Road", IMHO, is an excellent work of Science-Fiction, and one of my favorite works in one of my favorite genres/5(6).
